Curing theTopped Shot
Never top another shot again

The frustrating topped shot is very common for the beginner woman golfer. You simply hit the top of the ball and it runs along the ground instead of getting airborne. Often you’ll hear someone say you hit it “thin.”
There are a number of reasons you hit this shot. To prevent it, you need to start with the proper spine angle. Once you have that correct spine angle at your address position, you need to maintain it until the ball is gone. Making practice swings in front of a mirror will help you maintain the proper posture. As well, your target arm (left arm for the right handed player) needs to remain extended until after impact. Many women are afraid to take a divot. Practice making swings in your back yard, or on the driving range, and gain the confidence to brush the ground exactly where you want to. Don’t try to help the ball into the air, trust the loft on your club to do it for you.
